Wine News

La Puerta Torrontes…$10.99
Powerful honeysuckle and other floral aromas are characteristic of this
unique wine, the grapes for which are grown almost exclusively in
Argentina. It has an elegant pale yellow color with hints of green,
while on the palate crisp acidity provides a cleanliness and platform
for the citrus flavors. Finishes clean and refreshing, with more floral
hints.

Okanogan Merlot 2005…$12.99
Located just south of the Canadian border in north central Washington
state, Okanogan Winery is a pioneer in producing wines from the Okanogan
Valley. The 2005 Merlot is medium full bodied with rich flavors of
black cherries and boysenberries, and added richness from 18 months of
oak aging. Drink this with grilled meats, venison or lamb.

Charles & Charles Rose Columbia Valley 2009…$12.99
Imagine a pool full of late season wild strawberries and raspberries
with some sage, rose petals and a bucket full of watermelon Jolly
Ranchers thrown in. Then imagine diving in. That’s pretty much what it’s
like as you stick your nose in a glass of the 2009 Charles & Charles
rosé. All those flavors carry through on the palate and into a bright
finish. Like with the 2008 it’s made of 100% Talcott Vineyard syrah
(Wahluke Slope AVA). The grapes were picked on the early edge of
ripeness and went straight into the press (only juice skin contact was
in the press). The winemaking was very hands off, allowing the site and
grapes to present their story. 2009 was a riper vintage than 2008 thus
yielding a slightly darker color and more depth on the palate.

La Puerta Syrah Reserva…$17.99
A deep, purplish red with aromas ranging from ripe cherries to other red
fruits laced with cooking spice. Full bodied with soft tannins and a
great structure.

Beer News

Full Sail Amber…$9.49/6pk
Sweet, malty, medium-bodied ale with a spicy, floral hop finish. It’s
brewed with 2-row Pale, Crystal and Chocolate malts, hopped with Mt.
Hoods and Cascades. Over the years it’s earned 12 Gold Medals at the
World Beer Championships.

Full Sail India Pale Ale…$9.49/6pk
Generously hopped to 60 IBU’s in the classic style, this IPA is a real
thirst quencher. It has a full, malty body and there’s even a hint of
fresh citrus to it.

Full Sail Pale Ale…$9.49/6pk
A fresh, hoppy aroma that comes from two (top secret) Northwest hop
varieties, while two-row Pale and Crystal malt give it a mild sweetness
that finishes clean and crisp.

Session Premium Lager…$12.99/12pk
Original Session, with the bright red label, is a classic all-malt
pre-Prohibition style lager that’s like how American lagers used to
taste. It's flavorful, refreshing, and has a touch of that import-style
taste. (Which, once upon a time, you didn't have to buy an "import" to
get.) Oh, and it comes in a stubby, 11-oz bottle like your grandpa used
to buy. Named World's Best Premium Lager at the World Beer Awards.

Session Black Premium Dark Lager…$12.99/12pk
Short, dark, and drinkable and a Gold Medal Winner at the 2009 GABF! The
newest member of the family, Session Black, carries the mantra of
drinkability into new territory. Most beers this dark are so heavy-duty,
you could eat them with a fork. Session Black, on the other hand, lets
you have your dark beer and drink it, too. With just a hint of roasty
chocolate character, Session Black is short, dark, and totally
drinkable. At long last, a dark beer that doesn't drink like a meal.

Southern Tier Hop Sun…$8.49/6pk
Filtered to a golden clarity and dry-hopped to perfection, Hop Sun is a
fantastic session ale in which flavors of wheat, barley and hops
commingle to a refreshing and zesty conclusion. Hints of lemon and sweet
malts waft to the fore as a touch of bitterness contributes to Hop Sun’s
bright finish.

Avery Maharaja Imperial India Pale Ale…$9.49/22oz.
Maharaja is derived from the sanskrit words mahat, - "great" and rajan -
"king". Much like its namesake, this imperial IPA is regal, intense and
mighty. With hops and malts as his servants, he rules both with a heavy
hand. The Maharaja flaunts his authority over a deranged amount of hops:
tangy, vibrant and pungent along with an insane amount of malted barley
- fashioning a dark amber hue and exquisite malt essence.

Also look for Flying Dog Garde Dog, Stone Sublimely Self-Righteous Ale,
Dogfish Head Burton Baton, Southern Tier Back Burner Imperial Barley
Wine Style Ale, Southern Tier Iniquity Imperial Black Ale, and
Weyerbacher Slam Dunkel.
